Welsh diacritics, and who may actually register .cymru
Something most sellers of this extension never mention: Nominet supports internationalised domain names on .cymru and publishes the permitted character table at IANA. Welsh puts a circumflex on w and y, so tŷ and gŵyl are spelled wrong without it. On most extensions you drop the accent or work around it. Here you do not have to, and for a Welsh-language organisation that is a real point in its favour rather than a marketing line.
The second point is one people get wrong in the opposite direction. There is no Welsh test. .cymru is a generic top-level domain operated by Nominet under a registry agreement with ICANN dated 8 May 2014, and it carries no community restriction, no residence rule and no language requirement. Anyone anywhere may register one. What stops a Manchester firm taking a Welsh-sounding .cymru is not policy, it is that nobody would believe it.

The Welsh Government runs its Welsh-language site at llyw.cymru and its English one at gov.wales, which is exactly the bilingual pattern the pair was created for. Pick .cymru when you publish in Welsh, when your audience is inside the Welsh-speaking community, or when the name itself is Welsh and the extension completes it.
