WordPress Support
& Maintenance
Every WordPress core update and every plugin update, applied for you instead of sitting in your dashboard going red. Plus 20 minutes a month of the small content changes you never quite get round to. £30 + VAT a month, no contract.
That number in your dashboard only goes one way
WordPress tells you what needs updating. It does not do it for you, and it never stops asking. Here is the same site, left alone and looked after.
- WordPress core Update available
- Plugins 9 pending
- Themes 2 pending

Nobody is looking after it. This is most of the sites that arrive here.

What WordPress support and maintenance covers
Included
- Every WordPress core update. Applied for you, not left for you.
- Every plugin update, however many you run. Thirty plugins costs the same as five.
- Up to 20 minutes of content work a month. Swapping an image, changing some text, correcting a price or a phone number.
- Or we spend those minutes teaching you. Rather learn to do it yourself? Use the time as a remote session over AnyDesk or Zoom and we will talk you through it on your own screen.
- The backups you already have. 30 days of daily restore points, so a bad update is a rollback and not a rebuild.
Not included
- New design or development work. This is a maintenance plan, not a retainer for build hours.
- New pages, or new sections on existing pages. Changing what is there is maintenance. Adding something that was not there is a build.
- Anything past the 20 minutes. Ask anyway. We are often happy to do it, but that is our discretion rather than something the £30 buys.
- Sites we do not host. The service runs on 365i hosting, because we need to be able to fix what we break.
We need an administrator account on your WordPress site to do any of this. Make it a separate admin user rather than handing over your own login, and revoke it whenever you like. Separately from this plan, every WordPress hosting account also gets a free hour of 1-to-1 assistance to get you started.
Mostly people whose web designer stopped answering
The single most common way a site ends up here is that the person who built it went quiet. Not maliciously, usually. They moved on, took a job, wound the business down. The site keeps serving traffic because hosting is paid in advance, so nothing looks wrong for months. Then something needs changing and there is nobody to ask.
One of ours was a party-supplies business owner, Amy C. Her designer had stopped paying her hosting seven months earlier, roughly £105 in arrears, and had stopped replying to her. Reassigning the package into her own account took about thirty minutes and she paid nothing she did not owe. That was the easy part. Two years later she came back with the real problem: she wanted the prices on her own website kept current, and she was never going to do it herself. That is the conversation this service exists for.
The other group is people who could do it and have decided not to. There is nothing wrong with that. If you run the business, twenty minutes of your month is worth more than £30, and a plugin update that goes wrong at 9pm on a Sunday costs a great deal more than that.
If your designer has gone quiet and you are not sure where your site even lives, our WHOIS lookup, DNS lookup and HTTP header inspector will tell you, free, without needing to ask anyone.
You may not need this at all
Every 365i plan already updates WordPress on its own. Here is the honest difference, so you can decide against us if that is the right answer.
Your hosting, on its own
Included on every plan
- Core, plugin and theme updates applied automatically
- Safe rollback if an update misbehaves
- 30 days of daily restore points
- You still make your own content changes
Support & Maintenance
£30 + VAT a month
- A person applying the updates and checking the result
- Someone to tell when something looks wrong
- 20 minutes of content changes done for you
- You do not have to log in at all
If your site is a simple one and you are happy in the dashboard, the hosting on its own is enough. We would rather tell you that now than take £30 a month for something you did not need. There is also a free hour of 1-to-1 WordPress help with every hosting account, which solves more problems than people expect.
WordPress support and maintenance questions
We take over all WordPress updates for you: every core update and every plugin update, applied for you rather than left sitting in your dashboard. On top of that you get up to 20 minutes of content update work each month, for things like swapping an image or changing some text. It is £30 + VAT a month and there is no contract.
Ours is £30 + VAT per month. UK WordPress maintenance plans generally run from around £25 to £150 a month depending on how much hands-on work is included. Cheaper plans tend to cover updates only; the expensive end usually bundles development time. We sit at the practical end: all your updates handled, plus a short amount of content work, without paying a retainer for development hours you may never use.
Yes, both, and there is no cap on how many. Core updates and plugin updates are the whole point of the service, so a site running thirty plugins is treated the same as one running five. The 20-minute limit applies only to content work, never to updates.
Up to 20 minutes of work time per month, and it covers maintenance-style changes: swapping out some images, changing some text, correcting a price or a phone number. It does not cover new design or development work, and it does not cover building new pages or adding new sections to existing pages. If you ask for something bigger we may still be happy to do it, but that is at our discretion rather than something the £30 entitles you to.
Yes, and you can spend the 20 minutes that way instead if you prefer. Rather than us making the change out of sight, we join you on a remote session over AnyDesk (our preference) or Zoom and talk you through doing it on your own screen. People who take this option usually stop needing us for that particular job, which is rather the point. AnyDesk is a small remote-desktop tool that needs no installation, though note that its free tier is licensed for personal, non-commercial use only. This is separate from the free hour of 1-to-1 WordPress assistance that comes with every hosting account.
You are covered by the same backups every 365i plan carries: 30 days of daily restore points for your files and database, so a bad update is a rollback rather than a rebuild. Because we are the host as well as the people doing the updating, there is nobody to hand the problem to. We find it, we fix it.
Yes. We need an administrator account on your WordPress site to apply updates and make content changes, and we cannot offer the service without one. Create it as a separate admin user rather than sharing your own login, and you can revoke it at any time if you stop the service.
Often not, and we would rather say so. Every 365i plan already applies core, plugin and theme updates automatically with safe rollback, so if your site is a simple one and you are happy in the dashboard, the hosting on its own is probably enough. This service is for people who want a person doing it, want the content changes done for them, or have stopped logging in altogether.
Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons people ask. Sites arrive here after the original designer has gone quiet, sometimes years after anyone last logged in. You own the site, the domain and the database regardless of who built them. We can take over the hosting and the updates without needing the previous designer’s cooperation.
