Resource Usage
Shared Hosting Services
Shared hosting services provide web space on servers enabling you to upload pages and files for website publishing.
Storage Allowances
“Unlimited” server space and bandwidth are provided for normal, non-file-distribution web usage. For websites whose primary purpose is video, audio, or file downloads, a fair-use bandwidth limit of 250 gigabytes per calendar month applies, in line with the equivalent limit on our underlying platform partner. Standard, non-file-distribution usage is unaffected by this limit.
Prohibited Activities on Shared Hosting
The shared hosting platform is built on autoscaling cloud infrastructure with no fixed CPU, memory, or process limits per account. We do not throttle accounts that get busy. We do reserve the right to intervene where an account is being used in a way that is materially harmful to platform stability or to other customers (for example: a runaway script in a tight infinite loop, an unintended denial-of-service amplifier, or activity that the platform classifies as abusive). The following specific activities are not permitted on shared hosting services:
- Running stand-alone, unattended server-side processes or daemons (including IRCd)
- Web spiders or indexers
- Internet Relay Chat network interfaces
- BitTorrent applications, trackers, or clients (offsite linking is permitted; hosting is not)
- File-sharing or peer-to-peer activities
- Gaming servers
- Scheduled tasks configured outside the hosting control panel
- Giving away web space under your domain (including free reseller websites)
- Operating proxy websites or services
- Using hosting as remote file storage for external websites
- Operating self-hosted file sync or cloud storage services (such as ownCloud, Pydio, or SparkleShare)
Backup Restrictions
All files uploaded must be web-visible and accessible unless required for website operation. Non-web-visible files may be deleted without notice.
Search Engine Optimisation
All website pages are accessible to search engines unless action is taken to prevent this. If you optimise your pages for search engines, you must comply with the guidelines published by Google, Bing, Yahoo, and other major search engines.
Database Limits
MySQL databases are limited to 1,024 megabytes. You will be notified upon reaching this limit.
Reseller Account Deletion
Resold hosting accounts that have been deactivated for 50 or more consecutive days will be automatically deleted.
