The word condo does not exist in UK property
Nobody in Britain buys a condo. Flats here are sold on long leases, and the nearest legal equivalent to condominium ownership is commonhold, introduced by the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002 and rare enough that most conveyancers go years without seeing one. So a UK buyer searching for somewhere to live types flat, apartment or new build, and never types the word this extension is made of.
That is not an argument against .condos, it is an argument about where it works. The word is everyday vocabulary in the United States, Canada and much of Southeast Asia, and a developer or management company selling into those markets gets an address that reads as native. A UK firm selling to UK buyers gets an address that reads as an import.
Registration is open. Specification 11 of the registry agreement commits Binky Moon to open registration, states that the extension is treated as a generic dictionary word, and forbids it from limiting eligibility by identity or from excluding lawful users associated with a minority meaning of the word. Nobody checks that you have anything to do with property, and the price, at roughly five times a .co.uk each year, is the only real barrier.

.homes is the general word and .condos is the narrow one, and narrowness is either the point or the problem. A .homes address covers a whole agency: houses, flats, new builds, lettings. A .condos address covers exactly one type of ownership and says so, which is powerful in a market that uses the term and dead weight in one that does not.
